Voice Recognition Far From Perfect

It's certainly a fact that the voice recognition is not perfect. But at this price point, you can't realistically expect it to be perfect. When your Fijit Friend doesn't respond correctly this can honestly be frustrating, but you must speak clearly and in a natural speaking voice. Don't rush your speech and make sure you clearly pronounce each word. Also, be sure to begin speaking after seeing the belly button light up and ensure that you are using a fresh set of batteries. Keep in mind that there certain keywords (~30) that Fijit Friends can recognize -- they can't understand the entire English language. That would require advanced artificial intelligence and would raise the price significantly. But when you get it to work, the Fijit Friends are truly amazing and charming and the true ingenuity of this toy shines through.

No Voice Controls

There is no denying that the Fijit Friends are a bit loud and you really can't adjust their volume, but at the same time they are so entertaining and endearing for girls that you wouldn't really want to turn them down. When your daughter is done playing with her Fijit Friend, she can say, "Goodbye!" and that will transition them into a sleep mode.
